not true ....a neighbour off me has a standard A1, with fog-lights and NO chrome rings !! (lease-car)
the sportsline is a different version - not the s-line - i have s-line if you choose sportspackage on your A1 you get the rings and also option...
thats is a sport version, that comes with chrome rings!

i use a cheap china cable with same software ( jailbreak-version) and i can do same as garage....in fact more because they do not know about all...

update : now there is an adapter-cable( plug&play) with build in resistors for cars that give error message in BIS..... No answer about the costs...
